The SLMC HERE Foundation call for capsule proposals is now closed
Please watch out for the next call for 2028 funding in this page. The St. Luke’s Medical Center Health Equity and Research (SLMC HERE) Foundation invites research proposals for funding in 2027. Continuing our mission to advance equity in health and health care, we seek studies that aim to measure, understand, or mitigate inequities.
Since 2025, we have received proposals that:
1. Attempt to bridge healthcare gaps affecting underserved populations;
2. Aim to improve implementation of Republic Act 11223, the UHC Act; and
3. Utilize systems thinking, with a cross-cutting, or ”horizontal” approach to health, as opposed to disease specific, siloed, or “vertical” approaches.
The SLMC HERE Foundation has allocated a total fund of ₱50 million to support as many deserving studies as possible, with each lasting up to five years. Proposals will be evaluated based on significance, potential impact, methodologic rigor, ethical soundness, and appropriateness of the proposed budget.
While all proposals aligned with one or more of these objectives will be considered, priority will be given to studies with stronger potential to mitigate inequities, particularly those demonstrating clearer pathways to impact, scale, and sustainability.
Who is eligible to apply?
- The principal investigator must possess the following:
1. Filipino citizenship; - 2. Appropriate postgraduate qualifications (Master’s level, PhD, or their equivalents and/or equivalent research experience); and
3. Employment with a legally recognized Philippine institution, preferably with a track record in the conduct of proper research.
Primary Considerations for Capsule Proposals

The main consideration for capsule proposals is whether its research objectives align with the HERE Foundation's funding objectives of measuring, understanding, or mitigating inequities in health or healthcare.
Timetable of the Application Process
The call will close by January 30, 2026. All submissions must be done through the submission portal of the HERE Foundation website. A user account must be made to upload the proposal and all the required documents.
