SLMC HERE Foundation is now accepting proposals for 2026
The St. Luke’s Medical Center Health Equity and Research (SLMC HERE) Foundation invites research proposals for funding in 2027. Continuing our mission to advance equity in health and health care, we seek studies that aim to measure, understand, or mitigate inequities.
While all proposals aligned with one or more of these objectives will be considered, priority will be given to studies with stronger potential to mitigate inequities, particularly those demonstrating clearer pathways to impact, scale, and sustainability.
We are especially interested in proposals that:
1. Attempt to bridge healthcare gaps affecting underserved populations;
2. Aim to improve implementation of Republic Act 11223, the UHC Act; and
3. Utilize systems thinking, with a cross-cutting, or ”horizontal” approach to health, as opposed to disease specific, siloed, or “vertical” approaches.
The SLMC HERE Foundation has allocated a total fund of ₱50 million to support as many deserving studies as possible, with each lasting up to five years. Proposals will be evaluated based on significance, potential impact, methodologic rigor, ethical soundness, and appropriateness of the proposed budget.

![]() | HEALTH EQUITY RESEARCH WORKSHOP: DEVELOPING RESEARCH TO ADDRESS INEQUITIES IN HEALTH AND HEALTHCAREThe St. Luke’s Medical Center Health Equity and Research Foundation, in partnership with the Department of Clinical Epidemiology of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, held the “Health Equity Research Workshop: Developing research to address inequities in health and healthcare” last January 16, 2025. The goal was to inspire curiosity and passion in health equity and health equity research among researchers, educators, and health professionals, and to nurture their talents in handling research of such nature.
